Reading Habit Development

Kathalaya’s efforts are geared on creating an awareness of the importance of reading early on. As publishers of children’s literature, our vision is to inspire the children to want to read books and help them connect with books in a way that will one day make them independent readers. The READ TO LEARN Initiative takes age-appropriate reading packages for each grade to be sold to schools as a ‘mini-library’ package for individual classroom use and send trained and qualified persons to use the package in classrooms with the students in the presence of the class teacher for a period of 2-3 months. Sessions will involve reading of the books (stories, poems etc.) with various carefully planned classroom activities and interactions with the students.
